Project Blue 8

Hey guys...I guess this came a little earlier than expected. I picked up an 03 Evo 8 with a blown motor for a deal...its mint inside and out. My goals are to be low and run 10s on a stock block It's sitting on full D2 coilovers and has a bunch of suspension bits. Im picking up a drop in running engine from a guy in minnisota with 7k on it. The engine may have low miles but its been sitting for 3yrs and just as extra precaution I'm going to re gasket and time the engine. Mods are as follows

Wheels (something with a low offset and wide)

Leather Evo 8 recaros
Plaid all up in this bitch

Engine:
Stock block
Built head
Kelford 272 cams
Titanium valve springs and retainers
Gasket matched port job
Holset Hx40 with bep housing
T3 mani
Tial 44mm wastegate

Fucking love that color! And you'll be fine with that engine. The engine I put in my car had been sitting for 9 years prior, but I did replace the head gasket.

Always liked evos. Nice pick up make sure to post progress as it happens.

I've had a pretty busy weekend so far lol...i set out Friday with truck and trailer and picked up ol blue, I left here around 9pm for D town, loaded her up and went home. I got home around 3:30 in the morning. Went into work at 7am for a half day I had a few leads on some long blocks but they where all too far away or a deal didn't work out. I searched Craigslist and found a drop in running engine with 7k mi in ottertail, minnisota. I called him and he still had it...I told the guy i would leave at 2 and head out on my 13.5 hour 1 way journey. I got to the guys house at 1:30 am his time 2:30 ours and he wouldn't answer my phone calls or knocks on the door. 20 mins go by and I said fuck it if the house is unlocked I'm opening the door and yelling inside for him. Sure enough he was sleeping. We went out to his barn to get the engine and when he opened the door there where about 20 newer bikes and a mint as fuck 92 black acura NSX lol..talking to the guy a bit more he showed me around lol...behind his barn where 2 05 and 06 Porsche 911 turbos, a mark 2 supra turbo, 4 newer Benz slk 500's and a wrecked as fuck camaro. This dude had some badass shit. We loaded the engine and i headed home...im actually still on my way home with 8 hrs to go lol. It's been a super busy weekend and I'm looking forward to sleeping

The guy wanted me to mail him a cashiers check so he could ship it so i brought cash and picked it up...he wanted $27k for it, i wasnt taking that home with me lol

My buddy fabbed up this fmic setup for his old Evo and passed it on to me...he made the piping, bought a garrett core and welded on his own end tanks and brackets...its fucking HUGE!!! lol
