Pete's 11 second EG coupe build

Its new racecar time! I picked up this very clean 93 EX auto for hella cheap two weeks ago. Here's my overall build goals with this car.....


- 350+ hp on a built B16 Turbo
- Auto to manual conversion
-Rear disc swap / NSX or Mini Cooper front brakes
-Gutted / caged / low
- Sub 12 second 1/4 mile

But enough of that, lets get started! This is how it sits right now. It has awful brown interior. Its old, smells like smoke, and looks like shit. I only took one picture of the stock interior. I hate it that much.




So much better. Now I can dive into the wiring and un-screw this amazing wire tuck the previous owner did.I'm not sure how this car didn't catch fire. There's wires twist-tied together everywhere bouncing around each other resting on the metal portion of the passenger airbag assembly.

The old heart of this car. Its a d16z6 with 130,000 miles on it. Getting pulled ASAP.

Stripped down a little bit. Taking the head off this weekend and stripping it down to the block so it can get decked / bored .5 mm over.


So much is happening at a crazy pace right now, its getting hard to focus on just one thing! Next week the block is getting measured / bored / decked. Springs / shocks / camber kits / ASR subframe brace should be arriving on Wednesday. So much stuff to do before spring. Many many many pics and updates to follow!

Couple of updates, a bit slow on progress because michigan winters are too fking cold.

The block is completely stripped down now, just need to get the oil squirters out and send it out to get bored .5 over. I would have preferred to keep it factory bore because honda walls are so damn thin, but #4 has a very tiny groove worn down the sidewall. O well.







New parts are startin to roll in. Got my Custom sprung Ground Controls with adjustable sleeves, koni yellow shocks, Integra type R calipers and mini rotors. Chad was nice enough to donate some omni rear control arms, free racecar rides for you sir. Also got my Integra type R rear 22 mm sway bar back.



I'm hoping to get a complete body harness this weekend, get the blower motor and a/c bullshit out, and get the D16 pulled. I should be getting my Corbeau seats, gsr rear disc swap, ASR brace, braided steel brake lines and two sets of RJS 5 point harnesses early next week. Parts are still flyin off the EG, I hope to have some badass pics of putting stuff back on soon!

Some stoptech pads ill use for the street and Carbotech xp10's for track pads, also some braided goodrich brake lines for front / rear


Corbeau FX1 Pro Black cloth / black leather seat with bottom mount slider. Pretty comfortable for a full fiberglass seat. Comes with SFI certification and compatible with 5 pt harness.


My vibrant race "muffler". I don't think this is going to muffle shit. O well. 3' to match up with 3' kteller stainless mandrel bent cat back.


I've been pretty slow to update the motor side of the build, im still working out a few of the items on the part list and hope to get those all sorted with the help of my tuner.

Next week should be a huge week for the motor. CP pistons / Manley rods, ARP bolts, new bearings, Cometic headgasket, Mishimoto triple core radiator, Mishimoto 10 row oil cooler, Autometer oil pressure / temp / boost / coolant temp and AEM wideband.

Shits about to get real, stay tuned.

Its been a while sense an update... nothing too crazy has happened. I'm still waiting to get the title. I had a heck of a time getting it transferred to my name, the previous owner never registered it, had an Indiana title etc etc. It should be in my hands this week, and after the previous encounter with the buyer.... I don't want to touch it 'till its legally mine I also ordered a set of wheels that apparently Konig doesn't make any more, so that was also a kick in the balls. I've been waiting two weeks to hear from the buyer and no call, so I call them, and they say the wheels are discontinued and not available. wtf?

Got my current civic out of storage. The headlight switch (which is one of the last OEM honda pieces on it) decided to short and catch on fire. While I was driving on the Highway. Dah hell? Heres a quick pic.







So i said %@$ that car and put it away and got my bike out last weekend. I'm glad one thing I own works right!



This past month has been shitty for the project car. Track season is fast approaching, and the past few weeks have been very unproductive and frustrating =/. As we all know, shit happens on project cars, good and bad. I'm in a bad stretch right now. But fear not! More baller parts are on the way. May be willing to pay beer and pizza to help finish this build before Gingerman opens for the summer!

It's rolling all by itself! Don't worry, the ride height isn't set yet. Waiting for the motor / trans / cage and new 225/45R15's to get it dialed in.

Front suspension on. Ground control / Koni Yellow / GSR front knuckle / Integra Type RRRRRRRRR 11.2" rotor and Mini Cooper Calipers / Energy Suspension bushings / Skunk2 upper adjustable control arm / Civic EX front swaybar 23mm? This picture sucks, taken through the front radiator support.



CP 81.5mm bore 10.5 cr pistons because low compression is for not racecars. Manley Rods. Both are safe up to 600+ hp. Taking these into the machine shop tomorrow, hoping to have the block assembled and ready to go back in next weekend.



Garrett turbo / SLS topmount mani / 38mm Tial wastegate. Planning to run this + water/meth at 13-17 lbs. Aiming for 400 WHP.



10 pt cage is getting shipped friday. Hopefully we're running, tuned and caged in 3-4 weeks!

how much boost are you running

12-18 lbs on 93 octane, which is probably the limit on pump gas. Hard to say though before we get on the dyno.

Parting out everything. Shell will come as a roller with 4x113.4
96 ITR 4 lug swap and oem ITR 4 lug wheels.

Huge list of quality parts. I'll give any local guys a shot at parts before this goes up on Honda-tech and xceed. If you need a part for an eg / turbo b series I have it.
