| So....I recently aquired this from sean. Its a 2000 Jetta 1.8t with gti front end. In just the short day or 2 I owned this car before driving it 1400 miles I did the following. I put different wheels and tires on, lowered it slightly, welded some exhaust up, put a new hood on it. Here is how it sits right now in key west florida(may I mention I am first to rep. lofurb in florida!) I found alot more repaires needed in my journey from michigan to florida. I will be ordering the following: Oil pan coolant resv. drivers axle maf sensor instrument cluster More updates as parts are recieved!

| Is the MAF causing the boost issues?
He should lower it, no worry about plowing streets down there.

| sorry about being drunk saturday night lol.
gene SLAMMED this thing at my place on cut springs and rolled around for 2 days with this thing HAMMERED.
i was cracking up while he tried to back into the drive way from my yard where he parked it. the front bumper folded out from being bottomed out in the grass, so he drove it forward and plowed snow all around my back yard to get it out... fucking hilarious.
glad it made it home in one piece. for the boost issue, read up on the n75 valve on vwvortex. you can delete it with a mbc. but if you up the boost over what the ecu wants to see it will throw you in limp mode. i'm 90% sure your car is chipped, so you can delete the n75 with a mbc and set it to like 12psi and run that straight from the internal wastegate all the way to redline. the main reason why mk4's spike boost early is from ecu coding for gas milage. if you are chipped, you can get a mbc, delete the n75 and run 12 psi through the entire powerband.
the n75 is a 2 wire solenoid. it turns on and off very fast, and bleeds boost to help get better gas milage and control boost. my car hits 8-10psi at 2.5k rpm, and the n75 bleeds it down to 6-7psi all the way til redline. thats how you get so much power from chipping a 1.8t, its all ecu controlled, mostly by the n75. i also know that that factory dv is only good until 10psi or so, so that could also be leaking boost.

| yah chad, i have been reading into this. I am looking at doing the diode mod and then i can just run a mbc. once i read into it more i am sure this is the route i will go. | |

| what psi are you spiking at?
if your car is running any more than 10psi and it doesnt go into limp mode, than you are chipped, and you dont need the diode.
limp mode will limit boost to 4psi and it will be slow and doggy.
i'd throw a mbc on there and dont run the n75. see what happens. when you do install the mbc, keep the n75 plugged in at the wiring connector, but dont use it in the wastegate hoses. just tuck it away in the bay, but keep the wires plugged in.
