| Yeah I figured this would happen. This car can easily be parted for what I got it for, but I would rather build it. I am going to goto the DMV and find out what I can do. I am contacting the previous owner to see if he has gotten ahold of the person he bought it from who has the title. | |

| you used to be able to go to the dmv and get a form to fill out. then had to call your local police and have them come out and run the vin, to make sure its not reported stolen. But take the vin with you also so they can tell you if the car may for some odd reason have a lien also. | |

| Can the DMV run the VIN too? I plan to take some cash a pen, and the VIN and hopefully get somewhere. I really wanna see this thing run, so I need to get it titled. | |

| That process for getting the title seems familiar. A friend of mine went through something similar, his being bought out of state and the people who owned the car before him never registered it, the people before them had a lien on it. Once all the paperwork went through to remove the lien it was all good. Good luck on that process, I know it can be a pain and take a while. - Goldmember wrote:

Gerald gave me info for a guy thats real big in the mini truck scene, does some good work from what I've seen. I'm looking to get my seats redone so I'll let you know once I hear back from the guy. | |

| Thank you for using the Department of State's web site. As a last resort when a Michigan vehicle title has been lost, destroyed, or stolen and the purchaser is unable to contact the previous owner for a duplicate title, you can self-certify ownership at a Secretary of State branch office if the vehicle is six or more years old and valued at $2,500 or less. The self-certification procedure cannot be used for vehicles titled in another state. You will need to submit: a. A completed TR-205 Certification of Ownership (available on-line at all Secretary of State offices) stating you are the rightful owner of the vehicle and including the vehicle description, the true value of the vehicle, and a complete explanation of how, when, where, and from whom the vehicle was acquired; and b. Either of the following: A vehicle value appraisal completed by a licensed Michigan dealer, or A page printed from an on-line appraisal service such as Kelly Blue Book, N.A.D.A. Guides, Edmunds, etc. ( www.kbb.com, www.nadaguides.com, www.edmunds.com).On-line appraisal sites may provide multiple vehicle values (wholesale value, trade-in value, and retail value). Any of these values showing a value of $2,500 or less may be accepted. If the vehicle does not meet all of the criteria listed, a surety bond or court order would be needed for proof of ownership. If you have other questions, feel free to contact us at 888 SOSMICH (888-767-6424). Sincerely, Chrisie Brown Dept Tech. Department of State Information Center | |

| Okay, I am needing a favor kinda. Anyone here know a licensed dealer in Michigan? Since no website has a good value to offer me to print and take to the SOS, I need a dealer to write me a value with VIN and name and dealer number. Please help me get this title so I can dump some cash into my ride... | |

| Hey guys, I am not making much progress with this money sucking landscaping going on, but I am gonna get a few things soon. Decided to stick with the 13x6 meshies, what is a good tire size? I can't lower this thing super low yet, but need some recommended tire sizes. Some stretch on as well as semi short is on too. The most readily available sizes are 175/50 or 155/65. Also gonna get a motor in the coming weeks. | |
