More wiring pulled out to be redone.

looking good mate! how did you remove the sealer? a wire wheel? electric or pneumatic? i've been debating if i want to get it out of the bay on my hatch. how long did it take?

Didn't take to long going to say maybe a bit longer then 2 hours total. I started with this Wire wheel and a corded drill. Then picked up these wire wheels today to get in the tight spots. I need to pick up some 3m fast and firm sealer and lay a thin bead in the seams next, then filler, prime and paint.

Things are slow cause I am getting/got married this weekend, and money for parts needed is low. But I was messing around and installed my cupra lip and hit the bay with primer to avoid rust.

Trunk is almost done. I redid the carpet and welded some holes in the spare tire well and painted it with a rubberized undercoat.



Mounted my remote terminal jumpers in the tire well.



Put the inline fuel pump where the factory fuel filter was and have fitting that go from the factory 5/16 bundy fitting to -6an with Fragola push loc fitting and line. I jut need a new fuel filter to finish the lines.



More work when I get more money...

awesome work man. an fittings and lines get expensive quick. it will all be worth it in the end.

Oh for sure. Spent about $150 on just a few ends and some hose not to mention the $100 on ends and hoses I am not going to use. SO anyone looking for some slightyly used -6an black jegs fittings let me know.

Worked on the wiring this weekend. I still have alot to do.

And the interior...looks worse the what it really is...but still a headache.



Hopefully I can have the wiring all done by next weekend.

Pretty productive weekend. Got 90% of the engine bay welded up and almost ready for filler and sealer. The wiring harness is 90% complete. The turbo has a new gasket between the manifold so no more leak and the down pipe has been re-wrapped. Will get some updated pics but here is one of the finished trunk. I am meh about it but it will do for now.

nice work, the towers look smooth as butter. downstar is good shit. i'll be ordering a bunch of polished hex hardware once my hatch is up and running.

am I the only one who thinks the non-updated 1.8t coils look better? maybe because they DO look better!

They are cleaner for sure. Bay is going to look good! Some much stuff in the 1.8t bay. Mad props to ya.

Thanks again. Really wish I had this done for motorstadt or any of the shows this summer. But still have plenty to do. Mocked up the bay and front bumper as pretty much ll the welding and wiring is done. Had some black rattle can paint that was almost empty so I sprayed the bay to help give an idea. Mocked up the fuel lines as well. My intercooler pipes need to be modified to fit the new bumper. Not sure if I should have the pipes powdercoated black or left polished?

I say polished because of all the black and flows with intake an all. But black is sweet to! If me id stay polished. But black pipes ar bumper would be nice so they dont stand out. ?????

The polished pipes will stay. Hooked the battery up briefly and things responded so this is a good sign. Still need parts to actually fire it up. But pushed it out the garage on fathers day after putting the wheels on. Still hunting for bigger lips for the front.

This is my favorite build so far. Cant wait to see more pics!

Small update. Front bumper fits with the intercooler and grills. I had to move the intercooler back about half an inch; trim the radiator shroud; cut, flatten and weld the intercooler pipes; as well as trim thr bumper some. The intake manifold has been tapped and fragola fittings and hose is in place for the brake booster vacuum. Firewall blanket has been removed and the final a/c component from inside the cabin has been removed. Rear exhaust hanger has been replaced with a poly version. And finally, got some aluminum peices coming so I can have a powersteering reservior made that can be tucked where the a/c compressor use to be.
