| Was refered by a 2ez4me on michiganvw.org figured I'd check this spot out, here's the rundown: Picked up a 2000 Nogaro S4 with Alcantara Insets about a two months ago and thus far I have been very happy with the car. There are a few things I will be changing out to better suit my preferences but overall the car is very nice and gets a lot of compliments. Here's how she sits now: RS6 Wheels Tein Coilovers JHM Trio Short Shifter Package NGK Spark Plugs JHM 4:1 center diff upgrade 35% Tint Custom 4 Puck Clutch RS4 Pressure Plate VAST Lightweight Flywheel MillTek 2.5" Exhaust Lots of service done, including timing belt and water pump, All 4 O2 Sensors, EGT Sensors, both rear wheel bearings and right front as well, accessory belt, all cam shaft seals and valve cover gaskets, both side lower control arms, both left side upper control arms, ABS module rebuilt, new power steering pump, new central locking pump, 1st and 2nd gear synchro's and shift collar. All within the last 10K miles. Considering swapping out the rotors and pads for some drilled Stoptech Rotors and Hawk Pads and mounted a set of Goodyear Eagle GT A/S Tires. Nothing too fancy for tires yet, saving for a Summer wheel and tire combo for the spring. If all goes as planned I'm thinking Miro 111's or maybe something BBS but I'm still researching to see what offset I'll be needing, wanting something pretty aggressive. Also, the Bose system has that came with the car has left something to be desired. I have a set of Focal Utopia Component Speakers I plan to swap in up front with custom baffles and I replacedthe Bose set-up with some Boston Acoustic Rear Door and Deck speakers for acoustic fill. Picked up a headunit too (Alpine IVA-W505). Also, seeing an RS4 Grill in my future and maybe a front lip if I can find one something that's not too tacky. Hoping to get through the winter without spending too much on her. | |

Edit pics working looks great. Lower it! Thanks man! It is lowered on Tein Basics but they are a little on the soft side. Even at the height it is I bottom out on the tires every now and again, brought it up a hair for winter but I'll mess with it a bit once the weather breaks. Thinking something more agressive for my next set of wheels, maybe I can get lower on those... I'll be sure to seek out that thread...

Thanks a lot guys! I'd really love to be slammed though my local roads make that seem like a pipe dream. I sell Real Estate locally so I'm up and down all kind of horrible roads. I agree though on the stance, might have to swap out tire and/or roll my fenders to get it down a bit but either way it can only get better from here...

| Realtor + modded b5 s4 + alot of miles on junk roads = terrible idea!
you should get toyota camry for a daily and then ball out on the s4.

| I'm considering an older Impreza (GC) wagon for a DD. had an Subaru RS before this, just considered this to be less kiddie and a mix of both worlds as far as comfort and sport are concerned. I don't really put a ton of miles on, especially in a down market, most weeks average 30-40, max 100. | |

| Thanks Chad! I'm quite certain my next purchase will be a wagon. Keep going between Subaru a outback sport or A4...either way it's gotta be a 5 speed, which is much more common in a Subie... | |

Thanks a lot man. It was a very nice car and extremely comfortable. I loved it but hated having my project put away for four months a year. - Chris wrote:

Thanks! It was aftermarket, called the Carson Tuned kit. It's basically a USDM copy of the TRD (JDM)/L-Tuned (OEM) body kit. It was poly and fit like OEM. I added the carbon fiber on the bottom of the bumper. - Chad G wrote:

I agree. Wish I could have kept it and still gone AWD. I'll likely pick up another some day. I'll go about it a little different if I do though... When I first read up on aftermarket parts I would kinda swing for the fences with each piece, which did help me when I parted the car out but I could have done a lot more with the car if I would have gone for more of a middle ground with things like underbraces, coilovers and sways. It had TRD everything, which was all discontinued and therefore rare... All in all I'm glad I made the transition to AWD. I actually sold the IS300 to pick-up an B6 S4 years ago, bought the Subie, with plans to turbo swap it, and did my best to make that comparable to the Lexus but it fell short in the area of comfort and just felt very kiddie to me... I still kept reading up on the S series for about three more years and in a weekend decided to strip the RS and learn my lesson by going for a B6 or B7 A4 or B5 S4.

| Had a light come on for brake wear so I figured this would be good a time as any to upgrade my set up... Hawk HPS Pads (F&R) Stop Tech Drilled Rotors I'm going to paint my calipers as well before I swap everything over, still debating on upgrading my brake lines to stainless but I guess I can do that anytime. On the wheel front I;, between the LC818's and Miro 111's. I still like them at this point. Waiting till after the first before I make a decision about the wheels as with the Miro's (18X9.4 et40)I'm going to have to pull and roll my front fenders and go for a new set of Falken tires (225/35R18). | |

| I'm a little concerned about the 9.5 being too wide for me. This is 18x9.5 et38... It clears, 40 should work but barely from what I gather. This is as close as I've ever pushed fitment as well so I'm hoping all goes as planned. | |
