I'm pretty into car audio it's one of my other hobbies, either going fast or low and loud.

The civic recently had two 12" Rockford t1's @ 3,000 watts. Now I upgrades to two 15" Rockford t1's currently only at 1500 watts but I'll be replacing that with a 3,500 watt amplifier.

There's about 50ft of quality 0 gauge wire throughout the car and the only thing holding me back from a new amplifier is my poor 60amp alternator. I need a nice high output but that's $600ish.

Sooner or later it will fall together.

I may show up to just see this car. Things that go boom and flex are friggin awesome.

Last month I upgraded the valve cover ground from the stock 16ish gauge to quality 8 gauge and even I thought it was a little over kill.



Well now I've lost my mind and upgraded it to 0 gauge. The second red wire will also be replaced but I ran out of ring terminals. I already picked some more up so I may finish that tomorrow before I head out.

The cap has been ditched and replaced with a rear mini battery.

0 gauge ground from chassis to rear battery. 

0 gauge ground from rear battery to alternator. 

0 gauge ground from front battery to chassis. 

0 gauge ground from chassis to transmission. 

0 gauge ground from front battery to alternator. 

0 gauge ground from valve cover to chassis

4 gauge ground from rear battery to  amplifier. 

0 gauge power from front battery to rear battery. 

0 gauge power from front battery to alternator. 

4 gauge power from rear battery to amplifier. 

i need new pants now.... last neat setup i saw with large gauge wire was a crx with 6 power wires coming off the optima red top

Yeah multiple runs of power wire is only really necessary when you get into the 4-5krms area. I'd like to have 2 rear batteries in addition to my under hood red top but I need to save for an alternator. That's my main restriction right now.

Get one off of a Chevy with a 350. And make a bracket. Most of those are like 140-170 amp

That's not a terrible idea. I'm sure I could make something work if it was worth the effort.

I have another 2k watts to throw at them once I get my alternator.

New battery terminals and an extra ground today.

Dude, that thing was shaking my license plate and wasnt that close to you!!

hahaha. I have a lot of sound deadening to do so I can try to keep the pressure INSIDE of the vehicle. I will be building a box over this weekend MAYBE but before I put it in I would like to get some deadening done.

To be honest I've never heard what it sounds like from outside the vehicle more than a foot away. I need to have somebody drive it around a few blocks from me.

Mike and I may also be fabricating something this weekend to keep my voltage above 14v while at full tilt.

That box unfortunately won't work out without major interior modifications, back to the drawing board.



I think I'm going to switch back to 12's here shortly.... I want to sell the 15's and get wheels.
