| Yeah. They have to get involved now because it's a hit and run; it's a criminal offense. A lady witnessed the whole thing happen too, and even got his plate number. She came in and talked to me. She said it was some ratty chevy or ford truck. Go figure, f(@&$ white trash lowlife hillbillies. | |

| Insurance won't cover it, found that out this morning. They did catch the guy though, and he was cited for having a suspended license (which explains why he left) and fleeing the scene of an accident. Beings that he doesn't have a license, he more than likely doesn't have insurance, which doesn't bode well for me.
I can talk to my boss tomorrow and see if they have any liability insurance or not. Probably not though, McDonalds is cheap as F*&$.

| even if you dont get the repair covered it will be a super easy fix unless there is unibody or subframe damage.
i dont know where to look up the legality or liability involving your employer, but i'm pretty sure they are liable to cover this repair. your employer has insurance for this kind of stuff. you were on the clock when this happened, in their designated employee parking area. better yet, you have a witness on the police report stating that it did indeed happen there at that time.
ask your manager what they can do, if they act stupid respectfully inform them that you may go to a higher power. just dont go in with a bad attitude and say "i'm sueing you fuckers because its your fault". stay respectfull. you may be surprised what they may do to help you out.

| Most employers arent responsible for damages on property even in designated employee parking. Last several places ive worked and encountered this stuff wouldnt cover accidents in lot. But since he did flee a scene of an accident you may be entitled to sueing him or his insurance copy.
Double check with work but id say 90% they will say to bad that sucks. Pull the fender and check frame rail.

| I didn't even bother because I'm about 99% sure they'll say too bad.
Once I figure out the guy's name, I'm going after the ass&@*. I'm going to first send him a certified letter with all of my information giving him two options. 1) I'm going to take him to small claims court and sue him for the cost to fix the car, plus the court fees, or 2) he can just send me a check of the amount the car costs to fix and we call it a day.

| i think you're going to need more than small claims court if a single headlight costs 700 bucks. i'd call a attorney and see what they would reccomend. the guy deserves to pay for this, even if he doesnt have the money. | |

| Well, I can get an aftermarket housing for $150 (depo made) and swap my internals over, and I have a few friends who have spare MACHs (the kind of headlight) laying around. | |

| i just want to see justice.
we all work so hard on getting our cars where we want them. when somone in a busted hillbilly beater truck cant take the time to watch were hes going, pay for insurance/registration to even drive the car, and then leave the scene HE DESERVES TO PAY.
cars are much more than transportation to people like us, and this is bullshit.

| This is all horse shit dude. Like Chad said you are going to need something more than small claims court because they wont even look at this as if its a huge issue because you already went thru your insurance. Its extremely odd that your insurance isnt covering this since all the proof and info is there to state that it happened this way. Just dont give up on it and go as far to the top as you need to. I also wouldnt give up and mentioning it to your manager...whats the worst he is going to say? no.... Good luck bro | |

| meanwhile, lets get a fender, some headlights and a new wheel if it needs replacement. that damage doesnt look that bad, unless there is some unibody damage underneath. it seems like it would have cocked the wheel in a weird angle if it was hit hard enough to bend the unibody. this should be a easy fix to get her rolling again. rolling rat stylez is better than not rolling at all! we got shows and meets to attend. dont let this keep you down and out for the season. | |

| When in doubt sticker bomb the fender and roll out. I know it sucks and all but all our cars arent super pretty and if it gets you by til its done right. Ill just give ya swagger points for it! | |

| Yeah we can look for a fender. I'm pretty sure the wheel is alright, I didn't see any damage.
And if the hood is damaged, I'm just going to throw the rusted hood on for now.

| that blows...... i know michigan law is that as long as you are not in your car the person who hit you has to pay for the complete repair of the car or how much it would be to total it out. this happened to my deville and i got 2500 and got to keep the car. i just pushed the dent back out and bought a new car. i didnt have to deal with lawyers because my insurance company went after the person. | |

| The problem is I don't think the guy has insurance, because he was driving with a suspended license. Also because he has a suspended license, he's probably a broke hillbilly. | |

| well you could still get a judgement for him to pay. if the damage is over 1000 then it becomes a felony. like chad said. get a lawyer and sue the living crap out of him. or just send him to jail and pay restitution lol | |

| We'll see though. I found a fender on Car-part.com in Fort Wayne. I have a friend that lives down there and he's gonna check it out and see what condition it's in for me in the morning. | |
