so today i got back from the wekfest trip. i had monies from the Del sol that i was supposed to put in the bank for later. but then i realized i diddnt have a boosted car anymore. i decided to get on the interwebz and look for some turbo goodness.

i found this little bitch on craiglist. i called him and asked if the car was available tomorrow because it was late. he said he had a for sure buyer tomorrow so we made the drive to lansing. over the phone on the way there i had him drop the price 25%. when i got there i checked the car over, found a bunch of broken shit and made an offer of half of what he was asking and drove it home.

shes a well used worn slut. its got all sorts of problems i know of and more i dont even want to know about. 2000 jetta gls 1.8TEA. all sorts of options and its pretty clean on the inside. everything works except the a/c, but he threw in a complete working a/c setup for a mk4. i figure, if its made it this far in life, it'll last forever right?

so, this is going to be my project. its not going to be pretty. its going to be very very ugly, the most hacked up piece of shit 20v turbo vw project known to man.

its really not that bad... needs a good cleaning.

looks like you could climb mad hills/rocks/and even snow banks.

worked on it for a couple hours.

installed new fuba antenna

tried to vent to atmosphere, but the ecu went limp. some 20v's can vent, some cant. depends on the programing. mine cant, sucks.

pulled the broken trans mount out... what a bitch. found that the unibody/chassis rail is bent. great. had luck putting the bolts back in and carefully and slowly bending the bolt holes back into place. this car was either driven very hard or driven for a very long time with a broken mount.

also tried removing the gay rear spoiler. 3 of the 6 screws are stripped from somone trying to remove it before me with the wrong size screwdriver.

serpentine belt is completly missing a rib. if the serp belt is this poor i'm willing to bet the timing belt is just as shitty and that really sucks.

exhaust really isnt in bad shape. its useable for now. a dampener mount is broken causing a rattle. i set the pipe back in place and its fine for now. i need a whole new turbo back... its leaking at the dp flex. more on that later.

p.o. said it needed a new o2. i'll check into that when i can get the car into work and scan it. he also said it needs a wheel bearing, but i'm pretty sure the noise is just choppy tires.

anyway, im waiting on parts now. glen ordered them, should be here tomorrow. i'll get everything back together and running on friday or saturday when i get back in town.

as for mods go, i've got a nice brand new stainless 3" downpipe that will mate to a 2.75" downpipe back exhaust sitting in-cart ready to order. going to sell the stock cat to the scrap lady to free up some funds.

also need to get a mbc on the way and install a diode in the map circuit so i can boost 17lbs. that will be later on. the car might need more serious work.

replaced the mount tonight, car drives much better now. especially on hard acceleration or a stinky dirty roast in the garage.

also replaced the belt... and found out the alternator has the wrong pully on it. its got a 8v pully so the new bely may get chewed. i'm keeping an eye on it.

installed a forge 007 dv for kicks. diddnt sound all that good at 8psi. time for new downpipe, exhaust, and more boost.

Lower it.

got some stuffs done today:

removed the entire turbo-back exhaust. its getting replaced as soon as my new 3" stainless downpipe and 2.75" stainless downpipe back system comes in.

also removed the gay euro plate. the front rub strip is fucked from it but whatev.

I WANNA see racelands damn it........Good that exhaust is coming. Sounds good open turbo though if it wasnt sooooooo loud.
